Authors of all works published in Revista Especialidad Médica are solely responsible for the content of their contributions. They must ensure that their manuscripts are original and unpublished, thereby releasing the Editorial Committees and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México from any responsibility regarding the content of the work.

To detect plagiarism or textual similarity, all submitted manuscripts will be screened using iThenticate at two stages of the editorial process:

1. Upon receipt, during the preliminary review, to determine whether the manuscript may proceed to the formal evaluation process.
2. Once the final version has been submitted, after the peer review process and the incorporation of the necessary revisions.

The maximum permitted similarity index is below 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the authors together with the corresponding similarity report, allowing them the opportunity to submit a revised version.

If the revised manuscript is resubmitted and still exceeds the permitted similarity threshold, it will be definitively rejected for publication in Revista Especialidad Médica.
