Editorial Team Members' Submission Policy
Members of the editorial team and Editorial Board of Revista Especialidad Médica may submit manuscripts to the journal, provided that their submissions comply with the same editorial policies, requirements, and scientific criteria established for all authors.
When an editor, co-editor, or member of the Editorial Board is an author or co-author of a manuscript, that individual will not participate in any stage of the editorial handling of the submission, including the initial assessment, selection or invitation of reviewers, or the editorial decision-making process. The individual concerned will not have privileged access to information related to the editorial process.
The manuscript will be assigned to an Editorial Board member who has no involvement with the work and no conflicts of interest with the authors. When necessary, an independent guest editor may be appointed to oversee the process and make the corresponding editorial decision.
Manuscripts submitted by members of the editorial team will undergo the same peer-review process established by Revista Especialidad Médica and will be evaluated according to the same academic, scientific, ethical, and editorial criteria applied to all other submissions. Editorial team or Editorial Board membership will not result in preferential treatment or influence the editorial decision.
Any conflict of interest arising from the participation of a member of the editorial team as an author must be disclosed and managed transparently. The individual concerned must recuse themselves from any involvement in decisions related to the manuscript.
The journal will safeguard the confidentiality and independence of the evaluation process and will act in accordance with its conflict-of-interest policies and the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
